Print Day in May

Every year on the first Saturday in May, printmakers world wide celebrate Print Day in May in print shops, studios, kitchens, on beaches and sidewalks all over the world. For 24 hours, as the day unfolds around the globe, printmakers in over 70 countries begin making prints and join in this powerful celebration of creativity. By nightfall we share our work on social media and the PDiM website with thousands of others, creating a community chain around the world.

We will be hosting a fun session called
Stuffed Animals under Pressure!”

Yes! it is just that – the “printing” of a fuzzy, cuddly, stuffed pal. We invite you to bring a plush stuffed toy to the studio, ink it up and run it through our press! The results are surprising and charming! We have all been feeling “under pressure” during this pandemic, come share in this cathartic exercise and experience some welcomed, creative “relief”!  (Sorry, we just could not resist the puns!)

Inking a plush stuffed toy Printing a stuffed plush toy Little Bear Print

This event is free and open to the public via reservations to maintain less than 6 persons in the studio at one time. Appointments can be made on the hour from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.  Participants will be required to wear face masks & hand sanitizer will be plentiful.  Stay tuned for Sign-Up to go live!

Caution:  We recommend you Do Not bring your heirloom stuffed toy nor your child’s beloved friend! The ink may or may not be thoroughly removed from the plush toy fabric. Pick up a cute new friend at a thrift shop or garage sale.

Note:  Any rigid portion of a plush toy, such as squeakers, music chips or large plastic details, must be removed prior to printing to protect our press bed & roller.
