Print Original Fat Quarters: a Workshop for Quilters

Date: 10/05/2025 - 10/05/2025 | Time: 2:00-4:30pm

Quilters, enjoy a creative afternoon printing your own designs on fat quarters to incorporate into your quilts. We will cut simple designs and create unique stamps to print with fabric ink on your 100% cotton squares. There will also be fun Monoprint warm-up playtime.

All printmaking supplies are provided. Fabric is not provided; please bring your own solids or batiks for maximum success. We will have time to print 12-15 fat quarters.

Printmaking experience is not required.

A fat quarter is 1 yard of fabric cut into quarters. A fat quarter of fabric measures 21″ x 18″. Your local quilt shop most likely sells individual fat quarters or fat quarter bundles.

4 fat quarters can be cut from 1 yard of fabric. Fat quarters are made by cutting 1 entire yard of fabric off the bolt, opening up the fabric to 42″ x 36″, and quartering the yard by cutting in half lengthwise and in half again width-wise.The diagram below shows the dimensions of a fat quarter.
