Artist Statement

My work melds Fantasy and Nature, building upon my personal connection to both. Many of my prints showcase the layered, dense worlds that exist in my imagination, what I hope the real ‘wild’  is like. I feel a closeness to this whimsical fantasy, touching base with reality, it brings brightness and curiosity to everyday observations. Lately I have been focused on what I think a forest looks like when nobody is watching, what does it look like when a rabbit runs in a field? Or a Heron stands by a ravine? These prints explore those thoughts and are brought to life primarily through silkscreen, my preferred method of printmaking.

Columbus born and raised, Peter has lived here in Columbus his entire life. A CCAD alumni, Peter graduated with a BFA in Illustration. There he was awarded the Anne Hughes Allen scholarship for excellence in printmaking, he was the first illustration major to receive the award.

Peter has had the opportunity to exhibit his work nationally, from Berkeley University, to the Ohio State Fair Fine arts exhibition. He is currently a Core member at Phoenix Rising and is available to teach those interested in one-on-one’s regarding silkscreen. You can also find him at local events around the central downtown area where his work is available for sale.
