2012 Ohio Printmakers’ Gathering
Friday, September 21 and Saturday, September 22
This is a continuation of the annual meeting of the printmaking cooperatives in Ohio. Phoenix Rising Printmaking Cooperative in Columbus will host the artist printmaking groups for the 2012 gathering. A coming together of these print shops provides for networking, discussion, open portfolios, and exhibition opportunities for printmakers throughout the state. The exhibition and other events of the gathering will be open to the public and printmaking students are encouraged to participate. It provides a great opportunity for people to see and learn about the many varied processes of the printmaking medium.
The first gathering, exhibition and panel discussion took place at the Massillon Museum in 2009 prompted by the exhibition, Collective Ink, curated by Christine Shearer. The next two meetings of the Ohio printmaking groups were funded by OAC in 2010 at Zygote Press in Cleveland and in 2011 in Dayton with the Dayton Printmakers’ Cooperative. The upcoming 2012 meeting in Columbus has also received funding through a grant from the Ohio Arts Council. Thank you for your support.
