Art Under Pressure, Phoenix Rising Printmaking Cooperative’s first fundraising event, occurs on March 4, 2011, and we are seeking your assistance in making it a success!

Phoenix Rising, a 501(c)(3) non-profit, is a 12-year old arts organization dedicated to enriching the cultural climate of the Columbus area through education and exploration of printmaking media, and providing a well-equipped studio environment of mutual support, camaraderie and inspiration for artists and students.

Currently Phoenix Rising is located on Parsons Avenue with limited studio space, parking and safety concerns for members and patrons. There is also no handicapped access at the Parsons Avenue space.

Phoenix Rising is raising funds to grow its organization in the following ways:

  • Increase its studio space by moving to larger quarters
  • With improved access, create an even stronger tie to the community in Central Ohio
  • Grow its offerings of free workshops/demo’s and low-cost classes to the public
  • Expand its Artist’s Talk and Critique series
  • Add to its exhibits calendar
  • Augment its Columbus Public Schools involvement and Columbus Museum of Art partnership
  • Develop printmaking  process capabilities not currently offered
  • And increase its membership, and its sustainability!

Your tax deductible contribution will help us achieve these goals. With funds to move to a larger space, Phoenix Rising can improve and enhance its access to the community and increase the services and exposure it provides to the people of Columbus and the surrounding areas.

We hope you will consider opening your pocketbooks and giving generously to Phoenix Rising, so that the art of printmaking in Columbus may thrive and flourish. Enclosed you will find a list of the different ways there are to contribute towards our upcoming fundraising event, being held on March 4, 2011, at the OSU Urban Art Space in the old Lazarus building downtown.

You will see that these different ways to give include opportunities for you and your company to receive the recognition you deserve for contributing to such a vital and respected arts organization as Phoenix Rising Printmaking Cooperative.
