Emergence
A Solo Show by Amy Caldwell
Core Member of Phoenix Rising Printmaking Cooperative
on view March 1st-April 30th, 2025
Emergence came about as a way for Amy to bridge the decade gap between their current and previous work. After a slow descent into someone they didn’t recognize, she is now working to rediscover and come back into herself. The show is both a continuation and a transition, a reintroduction as an artist and an emergence for dormancy as something new.
Please join the artist and Phoenix Rising Printmaking Cooperative for the opening reception,

About the Artist
Amy Caldwell is an artist living in Columbus, Ohio. Mostly working in printmaking, Amy’s art explores the ebbs and flows of mental health as well as the impermanence of memories, using nature and the human form to capture intense and emotional feelings before they are lost to time.
Amy joined Phoenix Rising as an associate member in the summer of 2023 to support the co-op and get back into the art world after a (somewhat unintentional) hiatus. In the fall of 2024, she decided to become a core member of the cooperative.
She gave some insight into her experience as a core member thus far: “As a core member, I am much more immersed in the community. I am more frequently interacting with other printmakers, and both artistic feedback and inspiration are readily available to me. Because I have access to the studio space 24/7, I am able to create in the odd hours and pockets of time that work for me. The studio itself allows me access to the space and tools I require at all different stages of creating, so I am able to come in and have a table and big windows to sketch near even if I’m not ready to utilize the inks and printing press. On top of all of that, I am provided with significantly more opportunities to create and show my work even through the co-op itself. The other members are supportive of growth and are often able to share with me shows and opportunities that I would be unaware of otherwise. Overall, I fell significantly more connected to the art community in Columbus after becoming a core member, and I am so grateful for the encouragement to do so and everything the collective has brought to my life thus far.”
