Etching with Light & Water Workshop
A 2-session Solarplate Workshop
Friday, March 1 & Saturday, March 2, 2013

Experiment with an innovative, non-toxic printmaking process. Starting with pen & ink or pencil drawing, we will learn a simple and fast method for making an etching plate and inking and printing an image. We will discuss ways to combine this process with watercolor, pastel and colored pencil. This 2-part workshop is also great for painters who want to create a mixed media approach to their work!
Friday,March 1; 6:00 – 7:30 pm:
Getting started with a demonstration and image development. Bring several drawings, sketches to consider.
Saturday, March 2; 10:30am – 2:30pm:
Making the solarplate and printing. Don’t wear good clothes or bring an apron.
