Juried Exhibition Cancelled
After thoughtful deliberation, it has been decided that the “Ohio Printmakers: Celebrate Women” juried exhibition is cancelled.
We had hoped that extending the deadline to June 1 would offset the devastating impact of the shutdowns related to COVID-19. Although the submissions were impressive, we did not receive enough total entries to fulfill the scale of the desired exhibition. We sincerely thank each artist that submitted their prints or artist books.
We wish to acknowledge and thank our partners in this endeavor:

– The Urban Arts Space (OSU), Columbus Ohio, including Merijn van der Heijden, Director of the Urban Arts Space and Hopkins Hall Gallery and Jeremy Stone, UAS Exhibitions Coordinator and Senior Preparator
– our juror, Liz Chalfin, founder and director of Zea Mays Printmaking
– our anticipated moderator for a public panel discussion, Ann Fisher of WOSU, host and Executive Producer of “All Sides with Ann Fisher“

Ohio Printmakers: Celebrate Women state-wide juried exhibition
We understand that concerns about the spread of the coronavirus (COVID19) and the State of Ohio directives have resulted in fine art studio facilities being closed on both college and high school campuses. In response to this disruption in studio access and the printmaking practices of students and instructors, Phoenix Rising Printmaking Cooperative has decided to EXTEND the “Ohio Printmakers: Celebrate Women” submission deadline to Monday, June 1, 2020.
Special Invitation: During this challenging time it is important our organization supports the Ohio arts community. If you are a student or instructor that is planning to submit entries to this juried exhibition and now have NO access to a printmaking facility, consider completing your print or artist book at our studio! We are extending a special invitation to those planning to participate in “Ohio Printmakers: Celebrate Women” to use our studio at a reduced hourly rate through June 1. Please include your name, college or high school of enrollment, method of printmaking you are using for this specific project and contact number in your email.
