Edie Dean Artist Talk
Thank you to Columbus artist Edie Dean for presenting an artist talk about her art work entitled “Edie Dean, Old and New, An Evolution” at the Phoenix Rising Cooperative on February 21, 2016. Ms. Dean spoke about work from her days in graduate school through the latest monotypes created “just last week”.
“I want to convey what I get when looking at a landscape or a figure – its atmosphere, the mood, the color, the essence. Exact truth isn’t so important, but the truth of expression, what I perceived, that is very important. What were the colors, was it hot, was it exciting and energetic, was it damp, was it . . . to me it is all about the communication with the viewer along with the side game of entertaining myself with new challenges.”
