April Introduction to Intaglio Workshop
Member Amanda VanDenberg (first photo) led this two session workshop to introduce attendees to the intaglio printmaking process (etching) on April 9 & 10. The first session covered plate preparation, multiple forms of mark making onto a copper plate, and creating etched lines on a copper plate with ferric chloride solution, a non-toxic process. The second session covered basic plate printing processes such as applying ink to the plate, wiping the plate and operating the intaglio printing press. Workshop participants created some great images and editions.
