Noelle Shearer

Noelle Shearer brings a lifetime of creative pursuits to intaglio printmaking. Her work is a two generation collaboration with her father.

Biography

Noelle Shearer resides just north of Columbus with her husband, a variety of cats and dogs, and 3 young adult children when they are home from their various adventures. She studied Literature and Philosophy at The Ohio State University (BA) and Theology at Ashland Theological Seminary (MA). She is also trained as a Spiritual Director through Sustainable Faith. Primarily working  as a musician for most of her adult life, Noelle has turned to the visual arts as a way to combine the contemplative and creative life. Her printmaking combines the artistic designs of her father, renowned scrimshaw artist, Kim McClelland with her own writing and design. Her hope is that these pieces of art will inspire beauty and truth in a world that desperately needs more of both.

My aim is simply to add beauty to the world. I believe beauty that is rooted in honesty will always serve to point us back to the inherent value and dignity of every created thing.
Noelle was a recipient for an artist grant from ODC in 2024 for printmaking.
