Rod Bouc is an artist who paints, draws, and does monotypes. He has an MFA from OSU and a BFA from the University of Nebraska. Mr. Bouc has also been an arts administrator for over 32 years. Several years ago he needed to make art with fresh eyes and decided to take a monotype workshop at Phoenix Rising. He was immediately impressed by the nurturing environment and professionalism of the Phoenix members. When he was asked to join the board, he enthusiastically accepted. He said, “ I could see that it was an organization I wanted to support and help continue the partnerships that were established with the Museum”. Phoenix is one of those gems of the city that makes Columbus a wonderful place to live.

Ms Cushman is a former practicing attorney who provides technical expertise and education to advisors and plan sponsors as it relates to retirement plans. In her eight years in private legal practice, she counseled numerous nonprofit organizations on tax and governance issues. She also taught a Masters course at Drexel University entitled “Law in the Arts” and has lectured on retirement plan and nonprofit topics. She has also volunteered for several years as a tax return preparer for low income individuals through the IRS’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program and has provided pro bono legal assistance to numerous non profit organizations, including Phoenix Rising in the organization’s successful application for federal tax exempt status as a 501(c)(3) organization.

Ms. Ribar, along with her business partner Kathy Panning, have been realtors for over 10 years, working with residential home buyers and sellers in Columbus area markets. Ms.Ribar served as a Docent at the Columbus Museum of Art for 13 years. Ms. Ribar believes art can enrich, challenge and inspire. Helping Phoenix Rising, whose mission is to educate the public about fine-art-printmaking and inspire creativity, become a self-sustaining arts organization is vital to keeping Columbus vibrant and innovative.
